Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Oldham County Schools Reading Task Force (RTF)! You will find lots of resources on this site that will help you stay in touch with the work of this important group of teachers, instructional coordinators, and administrators.

The purpose of the RTF as stated by the superintendent is to "design an action plan that will provide whatever it takes to address the needs of struggling readers in our district." (See Mr. Upchurch's full memo to the RTF here).

The members of the RTF are dedicated to developing the action plan as stated by the superintendent. This directive is given to us in order for our district to be successful in accomplishing this goal established by our Board of Education. The Board goal states the following:
  • "For all students to be proficient, on-grade level readers by the end of third grade and receive the appropriate reading instruction and intervention when needed to maintain grade level proficiency throughout their K-12 experience (relates to questions 1-4)"

If you are curious about who is on the RTF, you can click here to get that information.
