I am happy to be back at St. Martha this year. I have a Masters Degree
in Education from Bellarmine University. This is my seventeenth year
working with children. Before teaching I was a child therapist. In addition
to my Masters in Education, I have a Masters in Social Work.
I am excited about being at St. Martha because it is a wonderful
school! I have been so impressed by the faculty and administration.
I have a seven year old daughter. She is in the second grade at St.
Martha. My favorite pasttimes are spending time with my family, reading,
scrapbooking, acting, and Latin dancing.
My mission for the class is that each child be given an equal
opportunity to succeed. I use differentiated instruction in my classroom,
which means that students are taught in a way that meets their needs.
If a student is struggling with a concept, I like to use small group or one-
on-one instruction. For students who need an extra challenge, I like to
provide activities to stimulate them. I also believe in using different
methods to teach that reach students with various learning styles. In
addition to hands on learning experiences, I like to assign different types
of projects. The projects assigned may incorporate art, music, technology,
or listening skills. Most of all I want for all of my students to enjoy
learning and strive to learn new things independently.
Our Class Mission:
* To respect others in the classroom.
* To do our work to the best of our ability.
* To be prepared for class.
