Why are we studying an author a month?

To encourage the students to become life-long readers.

To encourage the students to develop a love of being read to.

What will the students gain by this study?

How to be cooperative/collaborative workers.

How to be an effective communicator.

How to use technology. (Smartboard and computers)

Content

Develop vocabulary (author, illustrator,title etc)

Make connections between selected books and the authors who wrote them.

Use technology as an educational tool to develop awareness of authors and to participate in activities on the author's web sites.
