VIRTUS TRAINING"Protecting God's Children"
"Protecting God's Children" is for all employees and volunteers of the Diocese of Covington who in any way provide a safe environment for children. It is a policy of the Diocese that anyone who drives or chaperones children on a school or parish field trip or event, volunteers in the classroom, serves as a coach, or comes in contact in a volunteer role with our children in any way, MUST complete the Virtus Training Program "Protecting God's Children." Each individual must also have on file in the School Office a signed "Acceptance Form - Policies and Procedures for Addressing Sexual Misconduct." Participants must also undergo a criminal background check. Pre-registration is mandatory for the Virtus Program training. To register, go to: www.virtus.org "Registration." If you have difficulties with the program, the Diocesan contact for VIRTUS is Anita Geiger at (859) 392-1565: her email address is: AGEIGER@COVINGTONDIOCESE.COM. Once training is completed, participants are required to review a monthly training bulletin. Bulletins will begin only after you have completed live training and are processed. You will receive an email notice from mailto:system@virtus.org that a training bulletin is available for review (12 articles per year). After completing a three-year cycle of monthly bulletins, yearly and quarterly recertification modules are found under the "Recertification" link on the left-hand side of the MY TRAINING page. Since each person's recertification schedule is different, everyone is responsible for checking for quarterly/annual modules on their own, as email notices are not sent out regarding these training exercises. To access training bulletins, do the following: Go to www.virtus.org Enter your ID (email address) and password Click on MY TRAINING at the top of the toolbar Click on TRAINING BULLETIN REPORT on the left green panel Click on "CLICK FOR DETAILS" Choose a bulletin to read Hit SUBMIT after finishing each article.
