We celebrate books throughout the school year in a variety of ways.
Look below to see how we do it.
Rug Reading is an activity that the children look forward to every day. During Rug Reading, the children read by themselves or they buddy up with a friend or a beanie baby and read their favorite books. We call it Rug Reading, because most of the children love to lie on the rug to read.
Dr. Seuss' Birthday is a big reading day at Sts. Peter & Paul. On March 2, guest readers come to the school, we participate in several Dr.Seuss activities from a "Foot" race to cooking "Green Eggs and Ham"! It is a wonderful way to celebrate reading!
Listening Center- During the week the children will have the opportunity to go to the listening center where they will get to listen to a variety of books on tape/cd. Some of the tapes are from the scholastic book club and some were made by Ms. Lorrie using her voice as the narrator. If any parents would like to make a tape for our listening center please contact Ms. Lorrie. The children would love to hear mom or dads voice.
