ARGUMENTATIVE RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT over the banning of Huck Finn

Assignment:
Research and explore sources regarding the banning of Mark Twain's novel The
Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn.

Primary Source: Mark Twain's novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Students should use a minimum of two secondary sources which discuss why the
novel has been
banned over the years.

Using the information you find from your sources, including the novel,
formulate an argument which
challenges or defends the banning of Huck Finn.

The thesis statement for this project should include a clearly stated opinion
plus three supporting
points.

Example:
"Justification for the banning of Mark Twain's novel The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn, is minimal
or nonexistent due to lack of understanding of the language employed in the
novel, a historically
inaccurate view of the novel, and a social rejection of truths exposed in the
novel."
