FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions for Pit Crew Parents.
When can I eat lunch with my child? The Pit Crew loves for their parents to eat with them. You are invited to eat lunch with your child anytime. We go to lunch each day at 11:00. Just be sure to sign in at the office first. Can we celebrate my child's birthday at school? Yes-- the Pit Crew loves birthdays. You are invited to come during snack time that day and pass our birthday treats. Please just make sure to let me know, so I can make sure we get up from our nap in plenty of time. We have snack each day at 2:30. Please send enough snacks for 22 children. Some suggestions that the children really seem to love are: Little Debbies, Snack Crackers, Rice Krispy Treats, Cereal Bars, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Pop Tarts, Cookies, fruit, etc. Please NO Candy! If you send juice please make sure it is juice boxes or pouches ( Capri Sun, Hi-C, Juicy Juice, etc). Please No snacks that contain peanuts-- we have a crew member that has a peanut allergy. What if I forget my child's snack day? I usually keep extra snacks for us to use in a pinch. Please just send a snack as soon as possible to replace the snack used. What if my child forgets their folder? No problem, just have them bring it the next day. My child won't be going home the usual way. What should I do? I will send your child home the same way each day (bus, carpool, walk, daycare) UNLESS I receive a note or you call the office by 2:00PM that day to notify me of the change. Please do not wait until 2:55 to call the office; things get pretty hectic in the office around 2:30 and I CANNOT assure you I will get the message in time. Thanks for helping me keep our children safe and secure. My child has been sick. When can he/she return to school? Please keep your child at home until he/ she has been fever free for 24 hours. Also, if your child has been throwing up during the night or morning please do not send them to school. This will help keep everyone as well as possible. What can I do if I really need to discuss a matter with Ms. Thomas? Please either send me a note in your child's folder, e-mail thru our website, or call my classroom at 364-4870 and leave a voice mail. I promise to get back in touch with you as soon as possible. My planning time is from 12:30-1:05. What if I have questions or comments about the website? I would love to hear from you. E-mail me!! I check them daily. |
