I have been teaching children for 14 years. I taught middle school math for
2 years and then discovered my true love of kindergarten. This is my fifth
year at A. C. Steere Elementary School and I love it! I received my degrees
from Louisiana Tech University and have just recently received my National
Board Certification. Last year,I received the Milken National Educator Award
during a surprise assembly at school. Wow! Was I ever surprised!!! In the
spring, I went to Los Angeles for the award gala!! I think learning new ways
to teach our children is fun! Teaching is a real passion of mine. I can't
imagine a better job -I feel like I play all day!!!
In my "spare" time, I love to play with Haylee,Natalie and Trevor(my nieces
and nephew),to shop, to watch Colts Football, to cheer for Natalie at her
softball games, and most of all watch NASCAR. I LOVE NASCAR!! ( Just NOT
Jeff Gordon)
I truly believe that every child has the right to learn, and I believe it is
my job to find the best way to make it a reality. I have taught
kindergarten for many years and I still learn new, better, improved ways to
teach every day. Most of all, I want to create a classroom community where
every child loves to come to my classroom everyday and know that I love
them!!
