* Spelling test Unit 18, the only test will be Thursday, and spelling 
units will be due Thursday as well.
     *Last day to take an AR test will be Wednesday.
     *Test on the S.E. satates and capitals will be Thursday. 
      * We are not reading a new story, but we are working on LEAP reading 
and responding, and reading a timeline. The kids will be able to take their 
AR tests on Stone Fox after Monday or Tuesday.
     *We will study the 11 and 12 facts this week, and we will have a 
speed test on Friday. 
     * In science we are working on a new unit which deals with ecosystems.  
We will have a lesson on the human eye like we did with the ear because our 
science book did not go into that.
     * We will begin the next chapter on elapsed time.
     *  Social studies we will begin the S.E.
      * The children will begin biography project presentations on Monday, so 
be prepared.  I will randomly pick sticks to choose the 4 students who will 
present that day.
     * I require a social studies fair project for the 3rd 9 weeks.  I find 
the format easier than science and those projects are also requirements in 
many  5 th grade classrooms.  Topics are due this week.  Packets were sent 
out last week.  My class has had many successes in this area, we have had a 
couple of students who went to SLU with their winning projects!

Our holiday party is Thursday at 1:30 if you wish to come feel free, the kids 
can  begin bringing in party supplies anytime.
Thanks to those who sent in gifts for our adopted family!
LEAP night has  been postponed till after the holiday break.
