BRAVO! A few students have already turned in their Family Turkey Project and
they look great! The class loves all of your creativity!
We are sponsoring a special raffle to win two tickets to an upcoming Saints
game (Patriots vs Saints, Monday night, November 30, 2009 – 7:30 pm
kickoff). The raffle tickets will cost only $1.00. Proceeds from the raffle
will go toward purchasing supplies and student prizes for our Positive
Behavior Support program. Each student will be given 10 of the raffle
tickets to bring home. The drawing for the raffle will be held on Wednesday,
November 18th. The winner does not have to be present to win the raffle.
ALL 4th GRADE STUDENTS: Mr. Alford has decided homework with be optional for
ALL 4th grade students. Changes may be made at the end of the second quarter.
Although homework completion still encouraged, the faculty and staff at Abney
recognize that many of our students and parents are overwhelmed with many
obligations and responsibilities after school. Students should still be
studying for tests. This does NOT apply to Geography of the Week. If you
have any questions or concerns please refer to the note that went home last
week regarding this new policy or contact myself or Mr. Alford.
Ice cream sandwiches and Rainbow Pops are now being sold for $1.00 every
Friday at your child’s recess! The money is being used for PBS incentives
for the students.
We are in a competition to collect the most Box Tops. Please cut them out
and send them in.
