Fish Focus: Make Someone's Day

This week at a glance:
Spelling- Packet in binder (v/cv andd vc/v pattern)
Language- Verbs and Reviewing combining sentences; Writing for
Excellence: "I can plan a special Saturday..."
Reading-Assessing the skills of Making Inferences and Problem and Solution;
cause and effect;writing summary or Bridge; Story: "Sleds on Boston Common"
Using context clues to determine word meanings;reading with expression and
fluency
THIS WEEK: My homeroom has finished reading the novel, so one station job
will be writng a summary on a given set of chapters. We will be working on
writing a summary for the book as a class. Students will also work on other
skilss such as determining cause and effects and problem and solutions using
the novel. Both classes will be tested on vocabulary and conprehension for
this week's story from the reader. Spelling and Language assignmetns will
come from the packets in students' binders this week. We are working on verbs
in Language.
As we come back from the holidays, please continue to work with your child at
home. If you would like extra work to practice with your child please let me
know. I will find something to send home for you!
