Dear Parents, The month of February will be quite busy. We have lots of
happenings on our calendar. February 2nd was Groundhog's Day. Punksy Phil
saw his shadow, so as the tradition goes we are in for six more weeks of
winter. February 12th and 22nd are appointed days to remember two of our
great land's presidents, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. Love will
be in the air on February 14th on Valentine's day. We will be observing it
on the Friday prior to that day because it falls on a Saturday this year.
Have the children write their valentines to their friends with the list of
names I provided. We will also be celebrating two classmates birthdays on
the 11th (Camran) and 18th (Makayla). Happy Birthday girls!!! The last week
of February we will be celebrating Mardi Gras, learning the traditions and
culture that surrounds this ever-growing Holiday.
On the school calendar sent out earlier, it was stated we would be
going on a couple of field trips with the Pre-K class. This was an error.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please keep up the good work you are doing to help your child with
nightly homework. Be sure they use their best handwriting to complete their
work as well as doing it neatly and accurately.
Because of our observance of Mardi Gras, February 23-27, school will
not be in session. We return to school on Monday, March 2nd.
