While your child is Star of the
Week, each day of the week will consist of an exciting event or activity to
honor him or her.
Monday:
Sharing Sack- A small bag that says "Star of the Week" has been sent
home with your child to use as a “sharing sack”. Please help your child
collect 3 special items to share with the class that has some sort of meaning
to your child & put in the bag to return to school on Monday. Also send 3 or
more pictures on or before Friday so that I can set up the “Star of the Week”
bulletin board before Monday.
Tuesday: Favorite
Book- The star will bring his or her favorite picture book to share with
the class. (The child/teacher may read the book during story time).
Wednesday:Parent
Letter- Parents, please write a letter to the class telling us how special
your child is to you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your
child, and I will read it to the class during circle time. The content of the
letter is up to you, but you may choose from the following ideas: write a
silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not
know about your child, send special pictures of your child with a description
of the pictures, write a short story with your child as the main character, or
write a letter of your choice, etc.
Thursday:Lunch
Buddy- If possible, join your child for a special lunch on this day. We go
to lunch at 11:20-11:50. You may invite a relative to be your child’s lunch
buddy on this day if you cannot attend. You can have the buddy be a surprise
or let your child know ahead of time. If you choose to eat in the cafeteria,
lunch costs $3.75.
Friday: Star
Picture Frame- The star student will be presented with a decorated picture
frame created by classmates & teachers. He or she will bring this home on
Friday or the following Monday depending if it’s dry by the end of the day.
Note: If
another day is better for you to eat lunch with your child, you may choose
another day to come instead of Thursday.
Thanks for being involved in your
child’s education!
