WELCOME TO MRS. MEREDITH’S ROOM!
Dear Parents,
My name is Connie Meredith, and I would like to welcome you and your child
to Second Grade! Some of our classroom procedures are as follows:
Good Behavior
Ticket Can—Throughout the day, your child will have opportunities to earn a
ticket for good behavior to be placed in the ticket can. Every Friday
several names will be drawn from the can for a reward.
Stickers or Stamps—Students will be given a chart and will earn stickers or
stamps for excellent behavior. When your child’s chart is full, he/she can
turn them in for special treats.
Homework
A homework sheet will be placed in the Take Home Folder. Homework must be
done in the homework notebook (black and white). All homework must be neat
and correct. Please check your child’s homework each night. Your child
should bring his/her homework notebook to school each day. The homework
notebook will also be used for home/school communication.
Tests
A Spelling, Language and Reading test will be given every Friday. Spelling
words and Reading vocabulary will be included on the homework sheet to
study. Review daily Language practices for tests.
Snacks
Students may bring a snack from home for themselves. Snack time will be
approximately 10:30 each morning. No candy please.
Folders
Take Home Folder—Daily seat work papers that have been returned will be
placed in the take home folder. Any handouts from school will also be
included, along with your child’s homework sheet.
Graded Papers—Graded papers go home every Tuesday. Please go over all of
your child’s papers. Be sure to praise good work and help with problem
areas. All “D” and “F” papers will be marked “Correct, Sign and Return” and
should be returned the following day. You may keep all the other papers.
