Parent Homework
Please help your child complete the third Take Home Project (creating a
Personal Timeline and Documenting Family Traditions) which is due in January
when we return from the holidays. I think you will really enjoy this
project!
A second round of homework for the Louisiana iLEAP is included in your
child's Take Home Folder for this week. Please complete the related homework
with your child this week.
Consider attending the reschuduled Pajama Night on Thursday, December 10,
2009.

daily or weekly basis.
Thursday: Complete a Circle Thinking Map about things that your family sorts
on a daily or weekly basis.

Spelling/Phonics

Wednesday: Practice writing any missed spelling words from Unit 3 Story 2
which will be given in class. These words will be identified in your child's
Take Home Folder on an index card stapled to the inside.
Thursday: Put all of Unit 3 Story 2's spelling words in alphabetical order.
Look up at least one word in the dictionary. These are: Rice - sled, slip,
snake, snap, spill, spin; Timber - sled, slip, snake, snap, spill, spin,
people, water, make, game; Tabasco - sled, slip, snake, snap, spill, spin,
people, water, make, game,

Vocabulary/Reading
Monday: None
Tuesday: None
Wednesday: Practice reading and using the vocabulary words one more time for
Unit 3 Story 1. Read the new story for the week (either Rice Group "Boys and
Girls Play," Timber Group "Kids Can Help," or Tabasco Group "Fun Days.")
Practice reading the vocabulary words for the new story which are:
today, way, school, away, why, apes, crocodile, late, tree, gate, gumdrop(s),
pool, and stop.
Thursday: Practice reading the vocabulary words and the new story
again. These are: boy, girl, people, when, care, water, together, animals,
bread, brother, cook, home, leaves, llama, neighborhood, recycled,
river.
Louisiana iLEAP Practice
Tuesday: Complete Lesson 2, with
your child.
Take Home Project
Due Friday: A description and graph paper to complete the second Take Home
Project (Making a Fire Escape Plan) was included in the Take Home Folder on
Monday. Please review the project description and help your child to
complete it and bring it in by Friday, November 13.
Technology (optional)
Consider completing the Take Home Project on Personal Timelines or Family
Traditions using a computer.
