ELA: Unit 3 Description
Theme: Sharing Ideas
Sharing ideas is a unit where students will use listening and sensory skills 
to create mental pictures for comprehension. They will develop writing skills 
to share their ideas with their peers. Students will use the conventions of 
print and language to communicate with others. 
Enduring Understandings:
	Listening to others can help me learn new things.
	I communicate to understand others.
	I communicate to help others understand me.
Essential Questions:  
	Why is it important to listen to others?
	How do looking, listening, speaking, reading, and writing help me 
understand others?
	How do looking, listening, speaking, reading, and writing help me to 
understand me?

Comprehension:  Strategy- Story Structure

Writing: Personal Narrative
Phonics: Blend with Long /a/a_e
Spelling Words: make, take, came, game, gate, late, black, flag, walk, all 
Grammar/Mechanics: Days, Months, and Holidays
Literacy Stations: Spelling, Word Builder, Writing, Partner Reading, 
Computer, Art, Phonics, Promethium Board
Assessment: teacher generated tests, teacher observation and guaranteed 
curriculum assessment activities.


Math: Unit 3 : Collecting and Sorting Data
