FOR THE WEEK OF December 14,2009:

This week we will be working on a Christmas theme. We will also be
reviewing letters and numbers as well as testing on information required for
the report card. We will continue to review the
letters "C,c,N,n,I,i,M,m,P,p,S,s,T,t,O,o,F,f" as well as review the
words "have, see, can, like, go, we, play, is," and "to." We will also be
reviewing color words, number words, and patterns. We will discuss the
characters in stories, the sequence of events, and the settings, as well as
the author and illustrator. We will continue talking about various animals
and their habitats. There is the last week before the Christmas break.
We are also being tested on what we've learned for out report cards these few
weeks. Some of the students still do not know their phone number, birthday,
or address.

On Tuesday, December 8th, Bayou Woods had its fanily fun night
pajama party. It was quite a lot of fun seeing everyone relaxed in their
pajamas!

We will have our Christmas celebration on Wednesday, the 16th, at 2:30
PM. Parents are invited. If possible, please send in a treat. We need
individual snacks, Christmas napkins, cups, and small plates. Let me know
ahead of time, if you can, as to what you would like to send. We are not
exchanging gifts. On Thursday, Dec. 18th, I will be having minor surgery and
will be out Thursday and Friday. Have a safe and Merry Christmas.

If possible, please send in small paper plates and large paper
plates. Please do not send in styrofoam as we can't paint on it. These items
are needed for upcoming art projects. Thank you so much for your help.

Don't forget to keep up with the reading logs for "Book It!" You can
list on the blue sheet the books sent home in the purple folder as well as
books you choose from home or from the public library. Earn your free kid's
pizza coupon from Pizza Hut! We started the December "Book It" and it is due
the day we return from the break.

We are continuing our Smart Bodies program. Each day we will be
encouraged to eat the fruits and vegetables offered in our cafeteria. We also
will exercise for at least 10 minutes using learning songs. This should be a
benefitful program for the children and myself!
