It is important for students to have the opportunity to share as it builds important communication and social skills.

We will begin "Sharing Time" during our Morning Meetings this week (9/20)!

Students will have a day to bring in an item to share with the class according to the following schedule:

                          MONDAY - Class numbers 1, 2, 3

                          TUESDAY - Class numbers 4, 5, 6, 7

                          WEDNESDAY - Class numbers 8, 9, 10

                           THURSDAY - Class numbers 11, 12, 13, 14

                           FRIDAY - Class numbers 15, 16

Please help your child to choose an appropriate item to share.  It might be something sentimental, a picture, or an item starting with the letter of the week, or pertaining to the unit we are studying. 

 

STUDENTS SHOULD NOT BRING TOYS OR ELECTRONIC GAMES TO SCHOOL FOR SHARING OR ANY OTHER REASON. 

 

When a student brings in an item to share he/she will place it on the floor behind his/her back during Morning Meeting until it is his/her turn to share.  At that time, the student will be given a bag with three cubes in it.  The student will move his/her item to the front, and describe it.  The student will then ask for questions or comments.  As the student gives another student permission to speak, a cube will be taken from the bag.  When all of the three cubes are out of the bag, the student's turn is over.
