Homework

Please read with your child each night for at least 10 minutes.  Please do 
the take home readers with your child each night, and return them on Friday.
When reading, think about what happens first, next, last, and be able to tell 
it at the end of the story.  Who are the characters?  Where does the story 
take place?

Monday night homework (Every week):  Think of two words that begin with the 
sound of the letter of the week so that you can make your letter/sound page 
in your Letter/Sound Book on Tuesday.


Practice writing your first name and last name, with first letter capitalized 
and all other letters in lower case (i.e. Bill)..

Learn your address and phone number!

Practice counting to 50. 
Look for the words we have learned (can , red, the, green, yellow, blue, 
like, "a", purple, orange,zero, one,two, three, four, five, six, seven, 
eight, nine, ten, go, black, brown, see, to, have, is, play, are, for, you). 
Look for the words we have learned on signs, in the newspaper, and in 
books you read.  Practice writing the words. 
 

Thoughtful questions:
What kind of jobs do people have?
What kind of job would you like to have when you grow up?
How do workers help the community?
Where is your neighborhood?
What places are important to our neighborhood?
