News for the week of Novemember 30-December 4
We will continue with Unit 4/Food
and begin our Customs and Traditions Unit.
We will also read other Christmas and other Holiday’s around the world
related books.
We will study the characters and settings.
We will work on retelling in sequence and predictions.
We will explore phonemic awareness, sounds of letters & rhyming words.
New word: have, Christmas, Holiday, snow
Review words: yes, car, call, eleven, twelve
Our other review words for the week will be color words, number words,
review of word wall words, and Holiday words.
We will review the letters Cc and Nn and their letter sounds, like in
Christmas and necklace.
We will begin to make Christmas ornaments and have our big Christmas Party
on Thursday the 17th at 1:00, I hope you all attend. This week we will also
have a Polar Express robe and slipper party on Thurs the 16th.
Children may bring robes/or daddies big shirt and slippers to put over
their uniforms for the celebration.
In math we will work on classifying and collecting data, & graphing. During
Calendar Math, we are introducing the concepts of estimation and
measurement. We will work on sets up the number 12.
