News for the week of Nov. 9-13
We will begin Unit 4
The big book that will be read this week is Apple Farmer Annie. 
We will continue our Customs and Traditions Unit. 
Throughout the rest of the month, we will also read Thanksgiving themed non-
fiction stories and begin to study the roles of Pilgrims and Native 
Americans.  
We will work on retelling in sequence and predictions.
We will explore phonemic awareness, sounds of letters & rhyming words. We 
will focus on the letter Nn
We will review all sight words and add the words: to, no, not, eleven, along 
with numbers words to eleven.
In math we will work on classifying and collecting data, & graphing.  We 
will continue working on making patterns and reviewing numbers to eleven.  
During Calendar Math, we are introducing the concepts of estimation and 
measurement.
 Please turn in your pillow case as soon as possible, so that we can get 
started on our Indian attire!
Don’t forget about our healthy snack “Feast” on Friday November 19, 2009 at 
2:00.
-Veterans Day program Nov. 11, 2009 at 8:45. All veterans are welcome to 
attend. (Please invite parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles that have 
served in any area to attend.)
