News for the week of January 4, 2009
This week our class will study the The Hat by Jan Brett. Our reading unit
story will be Mole and the Baby Bird.
We will continue Unit 5- Animals and pets.
We will also read other Jan Brett stories,
We will study the sequence, characters and settings.
We will work on retelling in sequence and predictions.
We will explore phonemic awareness, sounds of letters, opposites, & rhyming
words.
Our sight words for the week will be is, play, have, to, go, see. We will
focus on both of the letters Ff & Oo.
In math we will work on classifying, graphing, and sequencing data. We will
create many different involved patterns. We will work on numbers to 14. We
will create ABB and ABC patterns.
I want to thank each and every one of you for such a fantastic Christmas
party! The kids and I really enjoyed ourselves making our special, unique
Gingerbread Houses; we could not have done it with all your help and
contributions! Also, a special thank you for the lovely gifts, they were
all so wonderful and special. I hope you all have an awesome
New year!
