Welcome to Kindergarten! The beginning of school is such an exciting
time! For teachers and children it’s a time of chance and new beginnings,
new surroundings, new friends, new experiences, new skills, and new
challenges.
I am very excited to have your child in my class, and am looking forward to
a wonderful school year. I hope you will visit our classroom to see all the
exciting activities the children will be doing.
I’d like to introduce myself as your child’s Kindergarten teacher for the
09-10 school year. My name is Debra Ruiz Riviere and I am delighted to be
working with your child this year. I have taught in St. Tammany Parish for 8
1/2 years; this is my 3rd year here at Bonne E’cole in the Kindergarten
classroom. I enjoy working with early childhood students and watching the
social and academic progress throughout the school year. I am married to my
loving husband, Ben and have an adorable 5yr. old, Shawn, who is attending
the kindergarten program here at BEE.
I have an exciting year planned, full of opportunities for learning and
growing.  Your child will be studying about many aspects of life including;
self, home, family, and community throughout the year. An academic
curriculum has also been set by Louisiana and St. Tammany Parish’s high
standards and benchmarks.
I look forward to meeting you and your child at your scheduled screening
time. If you are unable to make the scheduled time, please call the school
office at 643-0674.
Sincerely,

Debra R. Riviere
I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and developing lasting
friendships. Please try your best to attend our open house. (A note will
be sent hope with exact time and date.)
I’d like to thank you in advance for your commitment to your child’s
education.

Tips for the first few weeks to run smoothly
1.	Read all parent notes and letters carefully
2.	Do not lose or misplace the “fish folder” give to you the day of
testing.
3.	Send all lunch $ in a labeled envelope with his or her lunch #, my
name, and the child’s name.
4.	Each afternoon we will have a small snack. Please send your child
with a “healthy snack” (no candy). You may also send a small box drink or
water bottle (no can soft drinks). The snack is sent daily and stays in
your child’s book bag until afternoon snack time.
