December 14-18, 2009 Newsletter • READING – We will be finishing “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” this week and completing activities to go with it. Daily quizzes after we read the chapters. Final Test Thursday and watching the movie Friday. • MATH – We are finishing our M&M graphing project this week • SCIENCE – We will continue to study the Human body this week. No test. • SPELLING – They have a list of the words in their binders. Thursday is the post test. No Tic-tac-toe activities this week. • SOCIAL STUDIES – We will study the westward movement and the Louisiana Purchase this week. No test. • LANGUAGE – We will be practicing Audacity this week. This is a program where the kids can record their voices. • A.R. – 100% of their points and reading at 85% or higher is the goal this week. A.R. celebration (certificates, pencils, candy) Friday. • PRACTICE LEAP – Our practice LEAP tests have arrived. We will be completing it this week. The writing portion will be sent off to the state for them to grade. I grade the rest of it and share the results with you at LEAP night, which will be in either January or February. • CHRISTMAS PARTY – We will have our Christmas Party on Thursday, December 17th at 1:00. This is the time assigned to ALL classes. We will be making crafts and enjoying snacks. A more detailed letter went home today. • APPLES – I need everyone to send in an apple (color doesn’t matter) for a craft we will be completing. We will be making this Thursday, so I need them by then.
