• READING – We are reading “The Raft” this week from the reading book.
Vocabulary was sent home today. Test on comprehension and vocabulary will be
Wednesday.
• MATH – We are starting multiplication this week. It is SO important
that your child knows his/her multiplication facts. An ungraded timed quiz
will be given every few days to see how they’re doing. We reviewed some
songs that can help them today. A copy of the songs are in their binder. If
you send in a blank cassette tape I can copy someone singing them for you so
you can have a copy of how they sound.
• SCIENCE –We are continuing Ecosystems this week.
• SPELLING – The typed list was sent home today. It should be in your
child’s Spelling binder. Posttest is Thursday. Please don’t have your child
correct the ones they missed on the pretest because we’ll use the same paper
for the posttest. They can practice on the word list or extra paper.
• SOCIAL STUDIES – We are started Geography last week. A study guide
will be sent home. Test Thursday.
• LANGUAGE – They are writing a story about a time they were scared.
This is due Thursday.
• NO SCHOOL – Friday due to Teacher Work Day. Report cards will go
home next week.
• FUN RUN – A letter went home last week about a very fun event called
the Fun Run. This is at school on November 1st. You can order a t-shirt for
your child also. If you need another letter let me know!
