Reading Renaissance

Remember that we use the Reading Renaissance reading program.  This reading program will help each student set a goal based on his/her own reading level. The reading level is determined by a short, computerized test called the S.T.A.R. Test.  The S.T.A.R. Test is taken at the begin of each new 9-week period to see the student's growth. Record of student progress toward their goal will be kept and monitored throughout the 9 weeks.  Students will read for at least 30 minutes each day for R.R. Your child has 3 goals to work toward: a book level goal, percentage correct, and a point goal.  All students have a percentage goal of 85% or higher (as an average).  Your child has an R.R. log that is kept at school for him/her to record their books. This log is monitored daily by me so that I am aware of your child’s standing.
