Dear Parents,
Happy New Year and Welcome Back! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a delightful time with friends and family. It seems that all of the students are well rested and ready to conquer all of the challenges ahead. They are definitely off to a running start. Speaking of running, this semester, we will begin new academic skills in all subject areas as well as reviewing previous skills. Also, we are focusing on independence! Please continue to assist your child with their work, however, please allow them to complete their work independently. I like to see their fine motor progress (handwriting, cutting, coloring, and pasting objects).

Spelling: calendar, card, country, can, carry, cup, car, class, coming, center
Math: Adding using a number line, adding three numbers, following patterns, identifying number words, identifying pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters, counting money, using the cent and dollar signs, measurement, adding and subtracting objects (groups), adding two and three digit numbers, and counting by 5’s on a clock.
