Hello! My name is Dana Caples and I teach third grade at Bonne Ecole
Elementary. I have been teaching third grade for 18 years all in which have
been at this excellent school. I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana
University in the Fall of 1990. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and
have worked towards a Master Degree. I have successfully commpleted INTECH I
and INTECH II, INTECH SCIENCE,THinking Maps, Go Charts,and Write From The
Beginning. These courses will enhance Teacher and Student learning in my
classroom. I am also a member of a teacher soriety A.D.K.
Each Summer, since LEAP testing started, I have taught 4th Grade Math
Remediation School. THis has made a very positive influence on my everyday
teaching as well as an academic one.
Since teaching at Bonne Ecole I have had the privlege of being named Bonne
Ecole's Teacher of the Year and Elks Teacher of the Year.
I have two wonderful children Robbie and Nicholas. Robbie is a recent
graduate of Slidell High School and is pursing a future with the United
States Military. Nicholas is a 8th grader at Slidell Junior High.He is on
the Slidell Jr. High's football team. We are so looking forward to watching
him play for his school in his last year there!! Both of my
boys went through Bonne Ecole Elementary and they still enjoy coming up to
school to visit.
I enjoy outdoors which is spent working in my garden or swimming in our
swimming pool.I am a member of Slidell Althetics club and excerise there as
much as possible. I love to fish and have had the opportunity this summer to
experience blue water fishing many times. My boys and I enjoy fresh water
fishing as well as salt water.
My boys have four wheelers and dirt bikes. We like to ride them often.
Science and Math are my favorite subjects to teach. They both encourage
higher level thinking and many manipulatives are involved to foster
learning!!Best of all I like to show my students clues and many different
ways to solve math problems.
We are very fortunate this year again to have a Slidell High Intern. Her
name is Cabrini Pichon. She is with every day for one hour and 20 minutes.
Z.Z. Sproull is with our class once a week from Slidell High also. We have
been blessed to have such intelligent, hard working interns to be a part of
our class!!
My class goal is to create a positive, supportive environment that promotes
a love of learning to all students.Every child can learn and each has
individual strengths that can be recognized to help others in our classroom
to improve upon! Teaching is my LOVE,and I want each and every student to
grow academically, socially, and personally this year.
