About The Teacher

     Greetings!  My name is Sara Garrett and this will be my fifth year in 
the teaching profession.  This will be my fourth year in Kindergarten and I 
couldn't be happier.  I love the little ones!  I am so excited about the 
upcoming year!
     I have been in Louisiana for two years.  I was born and raised in 
the wonderful city of Huntington, WV.  I graduated from Marshall University 
with a BA in K-6 with a specialization in early childhood.  
     In my spare time, I love to go to the beach.  I also enjoy hanging out 
with my family, friends, and my little Yorkie, Bailey.  I got married to my 
wonderful husband Jeremy two years ago.

Mission For The Class

     A child's learning experience should be as enjoyable as it is 
effective. 
I believe it is extremely important to establish and maintain a positive 
environment in which all children feel valued and loved.  Throughout the 
year, the children will learn to communicate, respect, and understand each 
other.  All of my lessons are planned in a manner that models and teaches 
these crucial social skills.
     I plan to establish a love of reading and learning that will last a 
lifetime.  Good readers feel confident rather than frustrated.  Through 
developmentally appropriate lessons, my students will learn the beginning 
stages of reading.  
     I aim to have an exciting and eventful year in Kindergarten!
