Hello! My name is Sara Garrett. I am originally from Huntington, WV
and have been in Slidell for a few years now. I am married to my wonderful
husband Jeremy and have five month old twins Jack and Ava.
I obtained my degree from Marshall University with a specialization in
Early Childhood. I am a passionate educator and truly enjoy working with
children.
Motherhood consumes the majority of my time right now and I love every
minute of it! I am so blessed to have a wonderful family, awesome friends,
and a FABULOUS career! :)
A child's learning experience should be as enjoyable as it is
effective.
I believe it is extremely important to establish and maintain a positive
environment in which all children feel valued and loved. Throughout the
year, the children will learn to communicate, respect, and understand each
other. All of my lessons are planned in a manner that models and teaches
these crucial social skills.
I plan to establish a love of reading and learning that will last a
lifetime. Good readers feel confident rather than frustrated. Through
developmentally appropriate lessons, my students will learn the beginning
stages of reading.
I aim to have an exciting and eventful year in
Kindergarten!
