My name is Gina Penn and this is my first year teaching at Madisonville.
I have taught first grade for 3 years in St. Tammany parish and absolutely
love teaching this age group! I received my Bachelors' degree from Louisiana
Tech and my Master's Degree from LSU. My husband Chad and I have been
married for 5 years and we have a two year old daughter named Avery.
Like our students, I am continuing my education. I have been trained in
Kagan stategies, Project Read, Write from the Beginning, Thinking Maps,
Everyday Counts, and Responsive Classroom; all of which allows me to meet
the needs of a variety of learning styles and abilities within the
classroom.
I love seeing the smiling faces of my first graders each morning. I look
forward to working with my students and parents to have a wonderfully fun
and educational year!
