January 4-8, 2010
Monday: Review Book 3, Story 2’s words from reading folder. Make
flashcards for them. Complete the starred activities on the Home School
Connection with your child and sign the sheet and the reading folder
verifying completion. Complete math page.
Tuesday: Review Book 3, Week 2 words (in your child’s folder.) Read the
Phonics stories and complete the starred activities. Please sign the sheet
verifying completion of these tasks. Complete the Grammar page.
Wednesday Read the “Get Ready” story (“When Kids Play”) and the “Main
Selection” story (“Kids Can Help”) in your child’s folder. Sign indicating
you have read these with your child. Review Book 3, Story 2 words.
Spelling Unit 12: On the enclosed paper, have your child choose 5 of
his/her highlighted words to use in sentences that are at least 6 words
long. Please no “I like…” sentences.
Thursday: Read the “Get Ready” story (“When Kids Play”) and the “Main
Selection” story (“Kids Can Help”) in your child’s folder. Sign indicating
you have read these with your child. Review Book 3, Story 2 words. Study
for Spelling test tomorrow! Complete the math page.
Reminder – Visit the class website and go to the links. Your child can read
the actual story from the e-book on line. It will read the story aloud,
too!!
1st Grade Reading Series "Treasures" - (Go to the story we are
reading in class and you can read along with the computer! -Click on the
third book and look at the Table of Contents to find the story.
