Spelling list will be sent home each Friday in the Spelling notebook and the
Spelling test will be given the following Thursday.
Below is a list of activities to be used to study the spelling words. Three
different activities are required each week. All work must be done in the
spelling notebook and turned in to the teacher on Thursday.
1. Put the words in ABC order.
2. Write a story using your words.
3. Write each spelling word 5 times each.
4. Make a mini dictionary including the word, picture, and meaning.
5. Make a riddle with the spelling words as the answer.
6. Find the spelling words in a dictionary and write their meaning.
7. Make a PowerPoint with the spelling words. Print and glue in the
notebook.
8. Divide the words into syllables.
9. Write a silly sentence using the words.
10. Cut letters from magazines or newspapers to make the words. Glue in
notebook.
11. Take a practice test in your notebook.
12. Make a word search using puzzlemaker.com. Print, solve, and glue it in
your notebook.
13. Make a crossword puzzle using puzzlemaker.com. Print, solve, and glue it
in your notebook.
14. Write a synonym for each word. Use a thesaurus or computer for help.
15. Write a antonym for each word. Use a thesaurus or computer for help.
16. Color Words - write vowels in 1 color and consonants in another color.
17. Word Pyramids - Make one for each word.
