Dear Parents,
The first week of school we discussed our class rules and
procedures.A few behavior clips had to be moved but overall all went well.We
discussed what we do to get ready for school. The most important thing is
your child should start the day with breakfast. When I arrive they are
complaining that they never had breakfast therefore I send them for school
breakfast.Please make sure they know whether to go to the cafeteria or not
for breakfast.I cannot teach hungry children.We will talk about our names
and learn the names of our new friends this week.We are keeping track of our
Days at School with Every Day Counts Calendar Math.We participate every day
with Morning Meeting,which begins with Greeting,sharing and announcements.
This week in Language Arts,we will focus on our theme: We Are
Special.A few books we will study are Animals in the Park-an abc book and
Hands Can a non fiction book.We will be learning to read the words I and
can.These are called the high frequency words for the week. Please make
flash cards for these words. We will have new words each week.We will be
introducing the letters Aa - Hh.(Just introducing not mastering.) Homework
will be given every Monday. It is due Tuesday.I am looking forward to seeing
all the parents on September 10.
Reminder: Please do not forget to send a snack each day to
school.
