Miss Kerlec’s Class
Week of 10-6-08
Fundraiser- Thanks for all of your support! Hopefully, we will be able to
purchase a few technology items for our classroom.
Chuck E. Cheese Night- Eat some pizza, play some games, and support your
school this Wednesday night, October 8 from 3-8pm.
Field Trip- The 5th grade field trip is fast approaching on October 17.
There are 12 chaperones from our class who will be joining us on the bus. Be
on the lookout for more information as the date gets closer.
Another Day Off- There will be no school this Friday, October 10 due to the
end of the first 9 weeks.
Superstar Savings Reward Cards- These will go on sale today, October 6.
These cards will give great discounts to any stores and restaurants in our
area. All proceeds go to the BEE PTA.
BEE Fun Run- This year’s “Ready…Set…Geaux” Fun Run is on Saturday, November
1. Applications and fees for the race and t-shirt may be sent in ASAP. You
will be able to wear your t-shirt to school the day before race day. All
family members are welcome!
Spotlight on this week:
Reading: This week we will continue reading Chapters 4-6 of Follow My
Leader.
Writing: We will wite a personbal narrative about "A Time I Went Shopping.:
We will focus on time order and transisitons words in wrting.
Math: This week in Math we will continue to work with factors and multiples.
Science: In Science this week, we will continue our unit on mass, weight,
and volume. Students will complete their Properties Log Books and take a
quiz on phyisical properties of matter.
Social Studies: We will continue to learn about Eastern Woodlands Indians by
completing our matchbooks.
