Selection” story (“Kate's Game”) in your child’s folder. Sign indicating you
have read these with your child. Review Book3, Week 1 words. Choose a
Spelling activity and sign in Spelling notebook indicating the activity your
child completed.
Thursday: Read the “Get Ready” story (“A Good Game for All”) and the “Main
Selection” story (“Kate's Game”) in your child’s folder. Sign indicating you
have read these with your child. Review Book 3, Week 1 words. Math
worksheet. Study for Spelling test tomorrow!
***On Wednesday and Thursday evenings when reading the “Get Ready” and “Main
Selection” stories are assigned, you have a choice as to where to read those
stories. The stories will always be available for you to read with your
child in his/her green folder, but they are also available on my class
website. Most of your children already know how to get to the reading story
site as we use this often in our classroom. If you have Internet access, you
go to Bonne Ecole’s website (http://bonneecoleelementary.stpsb.org) and click
on “Faculty”. From there, scroll down to “First Grade” and click on my
name. On my webpage, click on “Links” and scroll all the way down to the
bottom. Click on that website link and our five Reading books will appear in
a new window. We are currently in our second Reading book (but your child
will probably point out the correct book before you can ask!) Once you have
clicked on the correct Reading book, click on the page number for the
corresponding story and you will see the same story plus the pictures that go
along with it. Seeing the pictures really does help the students with
reading comprehension and picture/print cues. Use if you would like!
