·         There are heroes and heroines in all cultures.

 

 

 

·         How do fairy tales and myths preserve cultural heritage?  How can I learn from the past to help me with the present and future?

·         Why are the universal themes (good can triumph over evil, hard work and skill can overcome obstacles, ordinary people can discover extraordinary power within themselves) found in all cultures?

Skills to Be Covered:

  • The students will share their novel jobs.
  • We will continue our Caught YA adventure.
  • We will be looking at the characteristics of Fairy Tales and Myths.
  • We will be researching Greek gods and heroes.
  • We will also write a modernized version of a fairy tale.
  • We will also be comparing Cinderella stories from other cultures.
  • We will use the Myth Starter program to write a myth.
  • We will also be looking at Louisiana Indian Legends.
  • They will complete their imaginative narratives using the thinking maps software.
