 PAY ATTENTION

LISTEN AND HEAR WHAT YOUR TEACHER IS SAYING.
LISTEN FOR THESE PHRASES:
* "Listen to whatI am saying."
* "This is important."
* "Let's go over this again."
* "Don't forget this."
* This will be on the test."

STAY FOCUSED
* Be alert and ask questions.
* If you don't understand, ask the teacher to explain the material in 
  another way.

TIME MANAGEMENT/RESPONSIBILITY
* Use time wisely.
* Sometimes schedules help.
* Make sure to write all assignments and test dates in your planner.
* Remember to record long term assignments in your planner.
* Don't wait until the last minute to study for tests or complete projects.
* Establish a routine.
* When you finish an assignment, check it off in your planner.
* Be sure to put all assignments, notes, etc., in your book bag as you 
  finish.
* Always be prepared.

SET GOALS
Set short-term goals. Set long-term goals.  Make goals specific.  Make goals 
realistic.  Set a time line.
* Decide what is important.
* Set your goals.
* Plan how to achieve these goals.
* Follow through. If something worked well for you, use it again. 

STUDY TIME

* Make time for studying.
* Plan a time each day to study.
* Find a quiet place to study.
* Make a study kit for your supplies, ( pencil, pen, dictionary, colors, 
paper, calculator, rulers, erasers, paper clips highlighters, etc.).
* Study a litle each night for tests.
* Use flash cards.
* Review daily work.
