RECYCLING
Boyet is collecting ink cartridges and old cell phones (at the front office). Cell phones are being collected for the organization called www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com. The money collected from these phones will pay for pre-paid phone cards for our U.S. Troops. This is a great way to support them, plus recycle at the same time. Plus, every donor of a cell phone will receive a bumper sticker. Just turn in your old phone at the front office and they’ll give it to you. It’s that easy!

Next District 15 Community Meeting Monday, March 1, 2010, 7:00 p.m., Boyet Jr. High Cafeteria
St. Tammany Parish turned down “Race to the Top” recently, by a 9 to 6 vote. We’ll discuss what that means, and how the prevailing budget crunch this year and probably next could affect our school system next year.
Let’s take a mid-year look at what’s going on here in our schools, and then take a look ahead to what’s coming up in this Spring’s legislative session, that can directly affect St. Tammany’s schools.
Watch for the Mar. 1 Community Meeting agenda on PTA and School websites, and in your e-mails. If you want to be on my notification list for meetings & agendas, please send me an e-mail. If you have something you want to discuss, please let me know!
