NORTHSHORE PANTHER BASKETBALL CAMP
Boys and Girls ages 5 – 15 are encouraged to attend a 3 day camp from December 28 – 30, 9:00am – 12:30pm. (Early drop off begins at 8am.) Cost of the camp is $75.00. For information contact Joey Tolis, Head Boys Basketball Coach (985) 249-8731.

Congratulations to Mary K. Bellisario, School Board Member representing District 15, for being named Legislator of the Year by the St. Tammany Chapter of the Alliance for Good Government!!! Mrs. Bellisario has served on the St. Tammany School Board since 1995. She also serves on all five Military Rd. school’s PTA boards. The Alliance for Good Government is a nonpartisan organization that has been recognizing outstanding service by elected officials in the metropolitan New Orleans area for the past 42 years.

Little Oak/Boyet Science Fair 2010 News
When: Friday, January 29, 2010 (Students judged during the school day, Awards Ceremony 6:00-8:00pm)

If you are interested in sponsoring a Special Award, being a judge, or can volunteer to help in any way, please contact Laurie Jugan at jugan@bellsouth.net or 985-641-0294.
Once our students place at the Little Oak/Boyet Science Fair, they consistently continue to perform well at Regional and State Science Fairs. All young scientists are encouraged to enter!
Parents: We’ll need your help too, especially on Fair Day – we need helpers and judges!

BOX TOPS for EDUCATION / Community Coffee LABELS
The first semester we collected 1,059 Box Top labels, which equates to earning $105.90. The classroom winners were Ms. Verges' 7th grade class and Ms. Rogers' 8th grade class. The individual winners were Charles Debose in 7th grade and Nicholas Hallal in 8th. "Sweet Treats" were a hit in both classrooms, and the two individual winners received movie passes to the Grand Theatre! We also received 30 Community Coffee UPC's. They are being held until after the second semester competition. So please clip those UPC labels and send them in.

In a report recently released by the Louisiana Department of Education, the St. Tammany Parish school system ranks third in the state in school performance scores. Boyet Jr. High had a baseline score of 108.2 with a goal of 110.2. Boyet met this goal with a score of 110.5. The state performance score this year is 91.
Boyet obtained 3-star status along with Cypress Cove Elementary, Honey Island Elementary, Little Oak Middle and Northshore High.

LIBRARY HELP NEEDED!!!
Mrs. Lemmon and Mrs. Stine would love to have some parent volunteers this year in the library. We have a number of projects that we need help with - from reshelving books, to putting magazines out to working with computers! If you are interested in volunteering, please call the school and ask for the library. 643-3775

SLIDELL 4-H CLUB:
Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join a new Science, Engineering, and
Technology (SET) 4-H Club. Dues are $15.00. The club will meet once a month
on a Saturday, at Camp Villere by Northshore Mall, for hands on learning and
experiments. Through non-formal, research based, experiential educational
activities, 4-H participants gain knowledge and life skills enabling them to
become positive, productive, capable and compassionate members of their
