About The Teacher

     I have been teaching for thirty-two years. I attended LSUS, majoring 
in history with a minor in English. Graduating in 1975, I began my career at 
St. Vincent's Academy where I taught for three years. I then transferred to 
Caddo and taught two years at Bethune. In 1982 when Caddo Middle Magnet 
opened, I transferred again and taught English. Later, when an opening in 
the social studies department was available, I returned to my first love--
history. I have taught seventh grade social studies for over fifteen years 
and still am fascinated by all there is to teach and learn. I recently 
completed my Masters in history at LaTech and my Plus 30 at LSUS. 
     On a personal note, I have been married for thirty-seven years, have 
two great "grown" kids, and two wonderfully wild grandsons. I enjoy sleep-
overs in our tent, jelly hugs, and wiping tears. I garden to a fault, attend 
Brookwood Baptist Church, and hope to return to Italy one day. (My coin did 
land in the fountain!)

Mission For The Class

    Enough about me. My goal this year is to transform my new students 
who "hate" history into history buffs. We will tackle this year with primary 
sources, plays, trials, crafts, foods, dancing, research, and much more. I 
believe that students learn by doing, and we will "DO" as often as possible. 
They have promised to give me their best effort, and I ask that you be 
involved daily. I will attempt to keep you informed, and I want you to stay 
in touch.
