Yes. Choose Orchestra I on your Caddo Middle Magnet enrollment form.

To Audition for intermediate or advanced, you must play for Mrs. Webb.

How do I audition for a more advanced orchestra?

Auditions should be recorded on a jump drive or CD or DVD and
must be submitted by the last day of school each school year to the
orchestra director.
You can also perform live by setting up an audition time with
Mrs. Webb, who can be contacted through this website or call
869-3001 (home) or 286-3990 (cell) or email at jewebb@caddo.k12.la.us.

What should a student play for an audition?

For Middle School, any polished piece can be played for the audition.

For High School, auditions will consist of All-State Orchestra audition
material.
Your audition should be recorded on a jump drive or CD or
DVD and submitted by the end of the school year for review.
Check the All State page for a list by year.
You can get copies of the written music by contacting Mrs. Webb.
Recordings of the current year's pieces and etudes are posted on
this Web Page under "Recordings".

What do students wear for concerts/performances?

Dressing for ALL Concert Performances
Young men in middle school wear black bow ties, tuxedo shirts and black
pants with black dress shoes.
High school gentlemen wear black bow ties, tux shirts/pants/coats, and black
cummerbunds with black dress shoes.

Young ladies wear orchestra dresses.

Concerto/Soloists Concert Competition winners and All-State Orchestra
members: Dresses for female Soloists for the CMHS Concerto Concert
do not have to be orchestra dresses but, must be floor or tea-length
and have modest necklines.

Black orchestra dresses and coat/tie or tuxedo for boys are worn for All-State
Orchestra performances.

CMHS Orchestra dress for CMHS Graduation:
Girls: nice dresses and dress shoes(no flip flops)
Boys: Coat and long tie with khaki or dress pants and dress shoes
(no tennis shoes)
Seniors are not required to perform at graduation.

In High School, should beginners enroll for Orchestra?

Caddo Magnet High Orchestra does not take beginners.

Audition music for CMHS Orchestra is the 2011-2012 All-State audition
music. A list of those pieces and scales and recordings are available
on this website.
