Remember to keep a log of all your service hours through the summer.  As 
long as your membership is in good standing at the end of school, you will 
be allowed to count those hours for your next year's service totals.  If you 
are removed from membership, you will not be able to count those summer 
hours if you re apply next year.

AUGUST 14, 2008:
Remember that the first official meeting for current members and any 
interested members will be the night of August 28th.  Mark your calendars 
NOW.  This is a mandatory meeting.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!  Check your work 
schedule, your ball schedule, your Mom/Dad's schedule - whatever you have to 
do to be here.  Our speaker that evening will be from the Salvation Army, 
and she will be informing you of upcoming events that you will be 
participating.  We will also discuss the year's agenda and guidelines for 
membership that evening.  

Also, make plans for September 6th or 13th to work with Salvation Army to 
start earning your service hours.  You must work one of these Saturdays to 
be 
considered for membership. 


If you worked any service hours this summer, make sure you complete your 
service log ACCURATELY and turn in to Mrs. Goza or me BEOFORE August 28th if 
you want your service hours to count!

August 26:
Key Club Mtg - August 28 - 6:00 pm!  Mandatory Meeting in Auditorium!!!  NO 
EXCEPTIONS FOR ABSENCE!!!!!

We need volunteers for Back to School night spaghetti supper.  We need about 
10 or 12 - and it will be first come first serve as to who gets those hours 
of service.  See Simms ASAP to sign up!

SEPTEMBER 4, 2008
Key Club dues are $40.00 this year.  Please turn in dues BEFORE September 
20, 2008.  This includes, district, state, and international dues and your 
club t-shirt.  

The campus cleanup scheduled for September 6 at Lee Hedges stadium has been 
cancelled since there will be no football game on the 5th.  We will 
reschedule the cleanup for after our first home game.  

September meeting - September 16, 2008 in the auditorium at 6:00.  We will 
discuss requirements and go over the requirements for hours and turning in 
the forms.  Bring your applications(new members).  Try to bring your $40.00 
dues to this meeting also.  We will discuss the upcoming events.  This 
meeting will be over around 6:30, so make sure you have a ride here to pick 
you up no later than 6:40.  

You should come by my room - and sign up on the September opportunities for 
gaining service hours.  REMEMBER - if you missed the informational meeting 
on August 28th, you MUST work all 4 Saturdays in September!!!!

MEETING NOTES:  September 16, 2008

Club dues are due by September 19, 2008    $40.00

Make sure to sign up for any of the work days that are scheduled - but make 
sure if you sign up, YOU ATTEND THAT WORK DAY.  In order to work the Revel 
in 
October or any other daytime function in which you will miss school, you 
MUST 
volunteer to work some of the previous night time/Saturday volunteer 
sessions. 

MANDATORY DATES:  September 26, 2008 - New Applicants attendance at football
                                       game.  Shirt/Tie/Khakis required
                  September 27, 2008 - Campus Cleanup/Gator Run
                  November 1, 2008   - District Rally at Byrd High School

Schedule everyone for the National Kids Fun Day September 20
Time: 4:00-8:00
Location: 1518 Cox Street, Bossier City
Date: Saturday, September 20
See Simms on Friday to get your release for working and directions to this 
place.  News crew will be there videoing and interviewing some of the 
members of the club.

DIRECTIONS TO KIDS'DAY IN BOSSIER CITY:  Take I20 east to Isle of Capri Blvd.
                             Exit from interstate and turn left on Hamilton 
                             Road.  Turn Rigth on to Cox Street - 1518 is 
the 
                             number of the place we will be working.


NEW APPLICANT INTERVIEWS:  September 30, 2008 beginning at 6:30.  You will 
be assigned an interview time to meet with the Exec Board.  Your interview 
will last no more than 15 minutes, so make plans to arrive about 10 minutes 
before your scheduled time and be picked up immediately afterward.  There 
will be no meeting that night.  A full member roster will be placed on Mr. 
Simms' door on Thursday, October 2.   Our first official meeting of the year 
is scheduled for October 7, 2008 at 6 pm.  

EVERYONE IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND DISTRICT RALLY ON NOVEMBER 1st AT BYRD HIGH 
SCHOOL.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!   If you miss district rally, this will be terms 
for dismissal from Key Club.  CLEAR YOUR CALENDARS NOW - GET OFF WORK - MAKE 
SURE YOUR COACHES KNOW THIS IS MANDATORY!!!!!!   RALLY LASTS FROM 9 - 12.

EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS are required to work a banquet being held at FBC 
Shreveport honoring local vets and their families.  This dinner is November 
8, 2008.  There will be approximately 400 people for dinner.  You will need 
to be there at 4:30 til ???   Wear black slacks, white shirt, and black 
tie.  You will be helping serve.  You will be able to eat dinner and hear 
the address of teh guest speaker.
