I am a lifelong Louisiana resident and proudly hail from the small town of
Angie, Louisiana. I knew I would be a teacher my whole life, except my dad
wanted me to be like Sally Ann Roberts and major in communications! I
received a B.A. in Elementary Teaching from Louisiana College in Pineville
in 1985. Since completing my student teaching in Rapides Parish, I have
taught in three school systems including Bogalusa City Schools, Tangipahoa
Parish, and St. Tammany Parish, only taking one year off to be at home with
my second baby. This will be my 24th year of teaching! I am married to my
college sweetheart (who helps a lot around my class and has been known to
host a cook-out for my class) and we have two children, both of whom
attended Carolyn Park. My son graduated from Slidell High in 2007 and is
attending college. He will be a junior this fall! My daughter just
graduated from Slidell High last spring and will also attend college this
fall.
My goal as a teacher is to teach your children with the same
high expectations, passion, and empathy that I expect my own two children to
receive in the educational environment.
My most recent professional accomplishment is achieving National Board
Certification, just one more way to challenge myself to be the best teacher
that I can be. Since both of my own kids are in college, I am also going to
be attending in order to get my Master's Degree!
Believe It! Achieve It!
