This is my 19th year at Chahta-Ima Elementary and I love teaching
here! I was born and raised in New Orleans and lived in Slidell until Katrina
destroyed my house. My son and his wife (Mrs. Treadaway, who teaches First
Grade) still live there, but now that I've re-married, I live in Metairie. My
two grown daughters live in Mandeville and Baton Rouge. I have a B.A. in
Secondary Education and a M.Ed in Early Childhood Curriculum and
Instruction plus additional graduate credit hours. I really enjoy working
with young children. Outside of school, reading, travel, photography and
outdoor activities like hiking, and gardening keep me very busy. My husband
and I are huge LSU fans and attend every football game. We even have a pet
cat named Mike the Tiger!
I am looking forward to a great year in Kindergarten!
My mission this year is to instill a love of reading and learning in my
students and to make school a positive place where all children grow
and experience success. We will also strive to help each other, be our best,
show respect and maintain a positive attitude every day!
