Hello! Happy New Year!
We have one week left in the 2nd grading period; we're almost half way through this year-- wow!
We are working on multiplication tables-- students are making multiplication flash cards so they can practice multiplication at home every day. Fifteen minutes of reviewing facts will make a real difference in learning and memorizing these math facts.
In reading this week, we are looking at the Chinese version of "Little Red Riding Hood", "Lon Po Po". The story is similar but different. This week's skill is comparing and contrasting so be sure to ask your child about the ways "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Lon Po Po" are alike and different.
This is the last week for AR testing in the 2nd quarter. Students can take tests until Friday morning; everyone needs to have at least 12 points. Several students in our class have already exceeded that number by large margins-- 50 and 60 points each! Well done! Reading at home for at least 30 minutes each day will get the job done. The goal for next quarter is 12 points as well.
Thank you for all that you do to prepare your child for school each day. This is a terrific group of children and I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with them each day.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or email if you have questions or concerns.
