Homework

Students are responsible for recording homework assignments in their 
planners and placing all homework, worksheets and/or papers needed parent 
signatures in the homework section of their binders.
Homework recorded on the board in class and written in planners will be more 
recent than any assignments recorded here.

October 26-30,2009  Week 2, Second Grading Period

12 POINTS in AR REQUIRED FOR 2ND NINE WEEKS
Monday: 
       Spelling tic tac toe activity, 
       vocabulary -- word web with the following vocabulary words:            
various, expert, investigate, laboratory
       read AR for 30 minutes
       Math-- Page 38 #5-15 all

Tuesday: 
      Spelling tic tac toe activity
      Vocabulary-- word web with each of the remaining 4 vocabulary words: 
amusing, inviting, confess, and suspect
      Reading--  read AR for 30 minutes
      Math-- P 63, set 1-12, #1-5
      Math test Thursday on counting money (lesson 1-12)
           -- test may also include any other materials 
           from earlier this year
      Social Studies-- complete personal timeline (due Friday, may bring to  
school earlier); check rubric to ensure a good grade on this project
          test Friday on vocabulary and chapter 3

Wednesday: 
      Spelling tic tac toe activity (due tomorrow!)
      study for spelling and vocabulary tests tomorrow 
      vocabulary word web inquisitive and perplexed and practice book p 84
      Review main idea by completing practice book p 80
      re-read "The Case of the Three Bears' Breakfast" 
      math-- study Math 4 Today for test on week 9; write 4 problems on 
counting money to exchange in class for review for test tomorrow 
      Social Studies--  test Friday on vocabulary (adapt, environment, levee, 
urban, rural, suburban, and community
              complete personal timeline (due Friday, may bring to  school 
earlier); check rubric to ensure a good grade on this project


Thursday:
      Reading: Read
      Read AR for at least 20 min
      Study for reading comprehension and skills test
      Practice Book page _________
      
      Math page 35 #1-13 and #17
      Social Studies-- test Friday on vocabulary (adapt, environment, levee, 
urban, rural, suburban, and community)
              complete personal timeline (due Friday, may bring to  school 
earlier); check rubric to ensure a good grade on this project

To use the math book or social studies book on-line, go to math websites tab 
of this website and follow the directions to access the math text book; both 
books can be found there.

To use the Reading book or any of the Reading workbooks online, go to 
www.thinkcentral.com and enter your student id number (same number we use for 
FAST math and for library and lunch accounts) as your user id and enter the 
word school for your password.
