Our school wide theme this year is "CES, Little Lions - The Heart of
Louisiana". Our classroom is decorated in a Louisiana style and we are ready
to make his/her first school year a year to remember. Our curriculum will be
filled with excitement, laughter, learning, and unforgettable adventure.
JANUARY
We will be doing a unit called "Winter in Louisiana". Your child will
participate in many interesting experiments with water & ice, build an "Ice
Snowman", learn songs, read books, and much more.
The last two weeks of January are jammed pack with exciting events. The
students are learning about China and Chinese New Year. They are comparing
China's cultures and traditions with Lousiana's cultures and traditions.
FEBRUARY
We will be continuing our Louisiana theme. The students will be learning
about Louisiana's different cultures and traditions. We will be having a
Mardi Gras parade, cooking Louisiana foods, doing science experiments with
live crawfish and crabs and much more. We will, also, be celebrating
Valentine's Day and discussing the importance of being a good friend. Start
looking for Valentine cards because your child will need 22 of them.
