St. Tammany Parish School
Board
District 15 Community Meeting
For Parents in the Military Road
Area
Monday, April 21, 2008
Honey Island Elementary School
7:00 p.m.
The next Community Meeting for Parents
has been moved to 7:00 p.m.
Monday, April 21, to
better fit in with school events and personal schedules.
Given how busy the month of May looks,
especially with graduations
falling so early in May this year, this
may be the last District 15 meeting
for this school year.
Thanks to Principal Mary Jane
Smith for letting us have Honey Island
Elementary
for this meeting!
The main agenda item will be
School Security -- what new measures have
been implemented in the past year and a
half; additional measures in the
bond renewal that just passed March 8th;
and creative ideas for the future.
Most of these measures began with ideas
from parents in the Military Road
area
, attending our District 15 meetings, providing their input, answering surveys
and attending meetings held by Central
Office in 2006 and 2007! Let's keep the
Military Road momentum going, for the
benefit of all parish students.
On April 21st I'll also have reprints of
next year's academic calendar, which
was just voted upon by the school system
employee groups.
If you have any topics you'd like to
discuss, please let me know and I'll add them
to the agenda, and do any research
needed.
Also, please let me know
if you will be attending this evening meeting at Honey Island.
Thank you.
