I have taught public and private elementary school in both Louisiana and
Texas, but much has changed since I began teaching in 1973. Technology has
not only influenced the way we teach, but it has also impacted what we
teach. I must say that it lends an interesting dynamic to the scheme of
things in today's classroom.
The needs of the children direct my teaching. Discovering questions and
learning how to search for the answers is a large part of what we do in
kindergarten. Putting into practice the basic skills we learn is another.
Finally, learning to care for others and the world in which we live is the
completion of our task. These things work together to start us on the road
to life-long learning.
As I travel along that road, I find myself spending more and more time
moving along with the trends. I began this website in 2001, I
believe. I seem to maintain it less and less, but think of it as an
accessible place for information I might need. I began this site as a tool
for the students and their parents, but it has not served that purpose lately.
Therefore, I have spread my wings so to speak. I have entered the world of
wikkis, blogs, podcasts/vodcasts and social bookmarking. You can find us at
