Mrs. Ginn’s Third Grade Study Guide: Dec. 7-11

Christmas Party: Please remember to bring your party item the day of the 
party, December 17, unless you are bringing canned drinks. Please send those 
early so I can chill them.

POPS Party: Our next POPS party will be Friday, Dec. 11. Will you be a 
Positively Outstanding Patriot?  You have to have 19 checks to attend. You do 
not get a check if you are absent or if you receive two conduct marks in one 
day.

This Week: 
Math:  Chapter 10 test will be Tuesday, Dec. 8.  We will have a timed test on 
0-8X facts Friday. I give students 4 seconds per fact. Facts must be 
memorized.

Reading: We will read The Polar Express for the next two weeks. We will have 
a vocabulary and comprehension test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Know the definitions and be able to use them in sentences.

English/Writing: We are still learning about adjectives.  We will have a quiz 
over adjectives Friday.  I don’t assign English homework, but you may take 
your English book home to review if you need to improve your grade.

Spelling/Phonics: Contractions: Bubble Test Thursday, Written Test Friday
I’m	he’s 	aren’t	couldn’t 	won’t 	o’clock	wouldn’t 
	weren’t
she’s 	wasn’t	I’d		shouldn’t 	haven’t	hasn’t	doesn’t

Social Living: Chapter 9 Test will be Wednesday. Please study your study 
guide each night.  Re-read your textbook lessons if needed.
