About The Teacher
My name is Sherrye Ginn. I live in Walker with my sweet, precious husband, two step-daughters, our dogs Lizzy and Zeke, and a cat named Kate. I have two adult sons. Johnathan is serving our country in the Air Force. He will be getting married soon, so we will welcome a new daughter into our family. My youngest son, Daniel, is in college in Arkansas and is in management for Wal- Mart. It appears he is on his way to being a professional angler. I love to garden! I have two beautiful rose gardens with 64 rose bushes that I baby on a daily basis. On August 5, 2008, the day before school started, I was diagnosed with diabetes. I was overweight. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high tri-glycerides. That day I realized my life had to change. With the support of my husband, we began eating healthy foods and exercising on a regular basis. I am proud to say I am thinner, stronger, and much, much healthier, and my illness is all but gone. You never get over diabetes or this is what I'm told, but I've done a very good job of beating the disease. I now have a passion for being healthy and fit. I will share this passion with my students this year through nutrition/fitness education. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with a BA and MEd. in Elementary education. This is my 18th year of teaching, and I simply love teaching at Eastside.
